First hotel on our trip to Sri Lanka, set in the middle of Unawatuna near to the beach, restaurants and shops. Very well received and looked after during our stay, the room was very good as was the bathroom, ac worked fine and everything was clean and tidy. We were able to park the car on the premises. Did not eat at the hotel so cant comment on the restaurant.

If I could give this place 2.5 stars, I would. Booked on behalf of me and my partner as part of a tour across Sri Lanka it was not the usual type of hotel I would book. Keep in mind the price you pay, and you will not be disappointed. Rooms basic but very clean (thank you), I slept well and the food was filling. Shower was really bad, like a trickle of water which isn't the most refreshing. Some very dodgy wiring of the shower - there is a plug socket powering the electric shower. Staff were nice. Did the job as a base for two nights, nothing more, nothing less.

I really fall in love with this place! Such a great spot! Beautiful architecture... And a lake that they have on backyard is sooo nice. Room was big, clean and very good design...Also just 5 mins to the beach... Owners are good people, super friendly and helpful.

Peaceful
Friendly staff
Clean rooms
Nice pool
But they have to do something against bugs!
Yummy foods
Television service must be changed!
I bet nobody wants to watch that bloody cheap Indian tv shows!
Fair rates!
Easy to travel
I can recommend this place without any problems!

Wonderful. Great staff, great room, lovely pool. Would have stayed for longer. My only niggle was the volume of the children at times, in the pool, whose parents allowed them to scream and shout for prolonged periods. As this IS a retreat, and marketed as such, i would suggest a polite notice to tell parents that well behaved, quiet children are welcome in the retreat/pool area. Oh and the massage was amazing - out of this world. Guys - your masseur deserves an award. Thank you for a marvelous stay.

Where to start? Elysium was overall amazing! This villa includes a billiards table, a swimming pool, a gym, security guards and a TV room. The staff were absolutely incredible and were super helpful, they would organize transport, dinner and outings for us. The villa had spectacular views and grounds and was just fantastic! You must stay at Elysium!

Wonderful, amazing, excellent and great! It all goes to the location ,staff, and to the safari . Our special thanks to Sumith and Damian the naturalist .Our safari was exceptional as we were so lucky to see a leopard close by for the first time in nature. At the same time we saw a herd of elephants and a tusker. And In the morning various birds close to our tent.We were so happy that we spent our time for such a adventurous trip .

Room Tip: You can get A/C and NON A/C by your choice and you can get a one family room as it will be more in...

I arrived at Beach Grove on Sri Lanka New years eve,to be greeted by a warm smiling Asoka( owner) and a very speedy check ,Asoka took me to my room ,a wonderful room on lower floor with magical views of the various vegetation.

Asoka offered to take me too his " family Hotel ( lovely right on beach,) 1/4 mike away ,so I could get dinner ,he also invited me to join him and his family in the tradition of " lighting the candles " felt very humbled to be invited.
Room excellent with everything you need .

Breakfast, wow the best omelette in Sri Lanka . This sure is paradise with a wonderful tropical setting, many animals and birds ,plus Daxter the very friendly guard dog .

A truly blissful experience waking up to nature .A beautiful pool to fall into ,especially early or late evening .

Some guest mention wierd smell in bathroom, well in 8 dasys I only noticed it once, and this was after heavy rain lasting all through the night ,this is a common thing in Sri Lanka ,and being I was only in shower a few minutes ,it never bothered me .

If you are luckly enough to find yourself here ,you can be assured of first class service from Asoka and his smiling, always helpful team .

Thank you Asoka and team ,for a wonderful 8 days, and I shall return

Chris .

Room Tip: I would go for lower room, not pool ,wonderful verandah to sit and watch nature .

This was my first time in Sri Lanka and I was blessed to be introduced to this gorgeous island with a two week retreat at Thambapanni. It quickly became a home from home, cocooned among vibrant nature, a comfortable, clean room, daily massage and yoga....and the smiles, the warm, heart-felt happiness of all the staff, who worked tirelessly but joyfully to make everyone feel welcome. So much so, I really did not want to leave. Thank you Nuwani for your attentive, caring nature, thank you Ranjan for your intuitive, Ayurvedic wisdom, thank you to housekeeping, restaurant staff, everyone...you are all beautiful, shining stars from whom we can learn so much. I will most definitely be returning to this wonderful, very special hotel.

From the moment we arrived feeling exhausted from our long journey Thambapannis nurturing staff made us feel instantly calm and at home.
The location is beautiful and the rooms and gardens are maintained to a high standard by hard working staff who go about there work quietly with grace and efficiency.
The gardener is amazing and has such knowledge if anyone likes to take time to talk to him.
The restaurant I can say boasts talentd chefs and I personally think we enjoyed nicer evening meals there than anywhere else along the beach. As for the waiters they were charming and couldn't do enough for us .
I thoroughly recommend Ranjan for his massage treatments , he really is on top of his game .
Finally on the whole just BLISSFUL in every way . THANK YOU

Our stay at Huma Terra was definitely the highlight of our recent trip to Sri Lanka. The accommodation is set in a beautiful and quiet area - next to rice paddy fields, tropical plants, tea plantations, soaring eagles and fireflies. The cabanas are amazing - clean, cool, private and peaceful. Being amongst the trees was such a delight. Hosted by the lovely Jean-Loup and Solange, the small touches were what really made our stay - delicious food options from Solange's recipe collection, divine eco linen, bikes to borrow and trails to explore. Thank you for having us, it was such a pleasure!

P.s. you must try Solange's orange salad dressing, it is a dream :)

Room Tip: All of the cabanas are private and delightful!
