Recently spent a 4 night stay here, we had two standard rooms side by side at the top end of the garden. To us the position of the rooms in relation to the pool and breakfast area these rooms are perfectly placed to give privacy. Rooms were very large and everything worked as you would expect. There is also a large lounge area attached to the rooms as though it's your own villa. Also outside patio area, make sure you use mosquito repellent as when we stayed there were a number, my wife had a number of bite. Aircon and fan in room made it easy to control temperature. Short 10 minutes tuk tuk ride to busy beach of Unawatuna with lots of shops and restaurants. We found it good to be away from here at night. Visit to beach 300 rupees. 20 to 25 minutes tuk tuk ride to Galle, 1000 rupees and well worth the visit. We also had trips to Koggala in tuk tuk 800 rupees to a perfect quite clean diesel free beach. Breakfast at Beach Grove has something for everyone we enjoyed the freshly cooked eggs. Owner and staff very helpful. On our first day we ate in for lunch and dinner as we had a long flight and drive down. So to spend a lazy first day on sunbeds by the pool was lovely. We were glad we stayed here and would not hesitate in recommending Beach Grove for a stay.

Room Tip: Standard Rooms at top end of garden are totally private.

Fabulous place. Stayed here for the first week of our annual escape from the UK winter.
We booked a superior room and got room 3 which has a wonderful balcony looking out over the restaurant and beyond to the beach and sea.
The restaurant (on the beach) was excellent, the jumbo prawns are the best I've ever had and the calamari was pretty good too. Recommend this even if you're not staying at the beach house.
The staff were very friendly and efficient especially our new friend Nuwani on the front desk who made us so welcome. I have been to Unawatuna a few times but the first time staying here, it won't be the last.

I had a fabulous stay at the Hotel Flower Garden. Nice room, great service and very friendly staff who go out of their way to help with anything you may need. Best of all is the food, 1st class for such a reasonably priced place to stay. Also a 10 minute max walk to a fabulous beach. Will definitely come back next time I visit.

This place is amazing! We booked a standard room and was not disappointed it had decent air con ,four poster bed and mosquito net along with a modern bathroom and private balcony! As for the rest it just felt like complete luxury the decor of the hotel its place on the beach and the restaurant had excellent standard food compared to many other places we had tried in Sri Lanka ,fresh fish & my fav the potato salad with egg & bacon! To top it all off the staff were really friendly, the manager went out of his way to make u feel special and the lady on reception greeted you with a smile and asked how your day was (and was genuinely interested!) I would say to anyone stay at this hotel ..it's suitable for all types of people - we didn't want to leave!

With the exception of the a/c unit flooding one of our cupboards we were really pleased with our stay here. The flood was caused by a drainage pipe from the unit becoming blocked; a maintenance man came out and fixed the problem within 2 hours. Luckily, we had not fully unpacked so no clothes were damaged or got wet.
Food and service were excellent; in fact we ate there every night except one. We were even provided with sandwiches for our journey back to the airport! We took the opportunity to visit the sister hotel which we thought was fabulous and had lunch there. One tiny moan, one member of staff was ‘fishing’ for tips, he didn’t need to, we left a tip for all the staff in an envelop we gave to the manager. stay there!

We were a large group of friends with children of various ages occupying all three villas. The properties share a stunning beachfront setting. It was idyllic to sit on the terrace listening to the waves and watching the sun go down behind the palm trees. The pool and grounds are perfect to be enjoyed by all age groups and the villas are light, airy and stylish with all you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The staff are a friendly team who make everything run smoothly without being obtrusive and Samantha can cater brilliantly for both local and international tastes.
We had an unforgettable holiday and I would definitely recommend Sri Villas, just don't forget to leave the gates to explore this amazing country!!

We recently stayed at the Dutch House for 3 nights. From the moment we arrived, it was like being transported to another era. We stayed in the Blue Room which was beautiful, charming and huge .. but having seen the VOC suite at check-out - we'd opt for this if we stay again - it's lighter and the layout is a little easier to navigate.

I agree with the previous poster about small improvements - the towels could be updated and also an extra lamp here and there - especially in the Blue Room - it was exceptionally dark but other than that, we loved it.

Tuk tuks are available at the gate so it's easy to go into Galle.

The staff here were lovely and genuine - we felt well looked after and Priyantha, whom I think is the Manager, was so efficient - nothing was too much trouble for him.

(On our first night, we ate at the Sun House - the sister property but unfortunately didn't rate that at all. I don't know if there was a staff / chef shortage but the food was awful .. and very expensive).

Room Tip: All rooms are different, The Blue Room was stunning but as per my review, we'd opt for the slig...

All I'm going to say is to try their fish dishes because I have dined there a few times and each time I had some kind of a seafood dish and loved it every single time. My partner normally has the salads and other things which are also very good. They have the tables right on the beach and it's generally crowded during the season so if you don't like too much of crowd this is not the place. I think it's a great place for beach lovers to stick around and have a few beers and enjoy a nice meal. Highly recommend you visit next time in Una beach.

First room we were given was on the ground floor but next day moved to a room upstairs with lovely balcony and nice view of garden. Good breakfast in the garden, good opportunity to meet other travellers. Friendly family. We had to ask for room to be cleaned and towels refreshed on third day. As the Green Villa does not accept credit cards we went to the ATM on the very busy main road but it wasn't working. Had to get a tuktuk to Galle for get the money.

Room Tip: Better to ask for upstairs deluxe room

We stayed at Rock Villa for 6 days of perfection! The food, the service, the rooms and the location were all 10/10. We arrived feeling stressed and travel worn and left feeling fully rejuvenated. Highly recommended to all that want an experience of a lifetime.

i just spent one night at the villa, though short, i can truly say that Nagenahira Beach Villa is a perfect place to be if you are visiting the Trinco District. The villas are beach front which is really a plus factor; the food is superb and the service is very good. Water supply is very strong and i really enjoy the open air rain shower. Towels are clean and fresh smelling. The place is also close to areas of interest in the Eastern Province. Luv to be back there again...

Room Tip: Villas closest to the beach are more spacious and has a balcony to lounge and dry clothes

Just had a five day stay at Nagenahira Villas, Nilaveli which is on a very quiet and beautiful beach front.Found the villas to be very luxurious, with generous sized rooms and balconies, high ceilings and quality fittings. The food cooked by their chef is fantastic, especially as we have now been able to compare it to other places we have stayed in Sri Lanka. Recommend the grilled fish, crab curry and rice and chicken curry in the evenings. The owner, Sam is extremely helpful and an excellent communicator.

Room Tip: The top floors have breezes and are amongst the tress and birds. There is a flat roof above good for...
