WELIGAMA BAY RESORT (Rent)

The new luxurious five star Weligama Bay Resort was inaugurated in October 2008. The resort has 24 rooms, bungalows, villas, suites and a large garden with palm trees and other tropical plants.

The newly built resort is located on the beachside in the middle of beautiful Weligama Bay, on the border of Weligama town and Pelena village. This convenient and safe location on the southern tip of Sri Lanka, between the historical port town of Galle and the provincial centre Matara, provides you with the opportunity to visit many nearby places of interest such as the ancient Galle Fort, the amazing Sinharaja Rainforest, exploring the Yala or Bundala Safaris or simply just sailing in the Weligama Bay.

Rooms

• 10 Superior Rooms are situated on the first floor of the main building, each with its own terrace with a seating area and overlooking Weligama Bay.
• 2 Connected Bungalows with 4 individual rooms are situated in the garden with their own terrace.
• 6 Garden Villas are situated close to the beachside and swimming pool.
• 2 Junior Suites and 2 spacious Royal Suites are situated on the second floor of the building.
• The Junior Suite has one large bedroom and living room.
• The Royal Suite features a separate bedroom and living room.
• Both suites offer an extensive bathroom which is made in local white terazzo finishing, a shower and two washbasins while the terazzo bathtub offers a view of the Weligama Bay.

The total size of the Junior Suite is around 77 sq metres, the Royal Suite is 115 sq. metres including large terraces with a panoramic view of Weligama Bay.

The resort's swimming pool has a whirlpool, kiddies pool and waterfall. It's wide, flat steps will seduce you to sit and relax while you enjoy the stunning ocean view, or you can retreat from the blazing sun to the beach or our teak terrace where cotton sun bed lounges and sunshades are available for your comfort. Fresh cut fruits and tropical juices are served by a personal butler, you can sit in the Ceylon tea lounge or on the adjoining veranda and enjoy the best from Sri Lanka's world famous tea, or dine in the partly opened beach front restaurant which is air conditioned and has a cocktail bar. The Ayurveda Spa covers an area of 150 sq metres and includes 3 massage rooms, each with its own shower and toilet, sauna, rest room and pool. .
