We arrived back home today from a three week stay in Sri Lanka. We stayed two weeks at Black Beauty Guesthouse and we liked it really much.
The staff is nice and helpful, especially Samir who helped us to arrange various activities and transports.
The surroundings are beautiful, you get the feeling you are living in the jungle. The guesthouse is a little off from the main Unawatuna beach, but we liked that, because it's more quiet. You must cross the main road to get to the beach, and that's a pity because the traffic is kind of wild. But that is hardly Black Beauty's fault...
Don't walk along the main road, instead you should walk along the beach, it's a shorter distance and a lot nicer. If you don't want to walk, take a tuk-tuk down to the beach and restaurants.
You eat your breakfast at the top floor, and from there you have a fantastic ocean view.
We never suspected to spot as many animals as we did: big and small lizards everywhere, monkeys jumping in the palm trees, even saw a couple of mungos and parrots.
The pool is small but fresh and clean. It is partly in the shadow, which can be nice sometimes.
Thank you from Lexelius family!
