There are far better (and cheaper) places around in Mirissa.

This place may be close to the beach and all, but hey, a 3-minute walk or a 5-minute walk doesn't really matter.
The room I stayed in was not very clean and the internet router is located at the familys place across the street, so it won't reach any of the rooms. This is a common problem at a lot of guesthouses in Mirissa.
You will find better places if you take your backpack and wander further down the road.

Hello everybody,
I want to recommend Amara Guest because it'm more than an ordinary guest house. The environment is excellent, with nature and silence all around...the owners treat me like a member of their family, helping me with every needs and wishes.... I was there last year in july- august and I will go there also this summer. It's a perfect location for couples and families. Thanks a lot Rossella
Great family Guest House Near the Beach

The location of this place is great, just 100 metres from the beach at Mirissa, th family that run the place are charming and will help you with your travel plans. The cottages are not new, but have everything you need (apart from hot water) which is the norm in this place in the budget end of the market. There is also wifi available and the family will cook you a hearty breakfast for next to nothing. We paid 1500 LKR for a night, but the prices may change depending on how busy they are.

Amara Guest is just across the road from the wonderful beach of Mirissa, just 5 minutes walking distance. The rooms are comfortable and clean, there is wifi internet and air conditioning.
I stayed there 2 nights in November 2012 and then came back and stayed another night. I enjoyed the place a lot and Mirissa is my favorite beach in Sri Lanka. The price was reasonable and the owner and his family were very welcoming and try to make their guests feel at home and as comfortable as possible.

This 7 room guesthouse is very well maintained. It's quiet and there's a nice garden to sit in. The family that owns the guesthouse is very helpful.
I would check it out if you want to save money and don't have to be right on the beach.

Prezzi contenutissimi , ambiente familiare ma molto discreto . Pushpa e Abey ottime persone. Posizione ottima .Gran tranquillità a 2 passi dall'incantevole spiaggia.Consigliato a chi ama il contatto con la natura.

Amara guest is very calm place and very friendly place Pushpa & Abey like a friend and his foods are very tasty.Amara guest I think best place for best price in mirissa,Rooms are very clean and large rooms. Most i like srilankan foods they are prairie very tasty.I stay at Amara guest six days.They are provide mosquito net and fan again i like amara guest.I come back in sri lanka next year I select Amara guest again. I like Amara guest I like Mirissa I like Sri lanka..................
